From Suvarnabhumi Airport to Bangkok City
Suvarnabhumi Airport is the main doorway for travellers from almost all part of the world and people using full-service flights in east and southeast asia area. It locates some 30 kilometres east of the city, in the neighbouring Samut Prakan province. Fear not, there are plenty of choices you can easily hop on and get to the downtown. • Airport Rail Link
This is the quickest and one of the most popular transport options to getting in and out of the airport. This Airport Rail Link (ARL) runs from 6.00 - midnight each day. The City Line Train will makes six stops along the way and will take you to Phaya Thai Station and in less than 30 minutes, and from there you can easily connect to BTS skytrain.
No need to bargain or talk to anyone, which is the best part. However, you need to be aware that it is very very crowded during rush hours on the way from downtown to the airport. Many eastern Bangkokiers also use this service to get home, and the queue can be a real pain especially when you are in a hurry to catch the plane. Airport Rail Link City Line

Several buses runs from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city, but for most part S1 Line bus is the best choice to choose. This is express bus that will take you directly to inner area of Bangkok, perfect if you stay in Khao San area or near to the Grand Palace. You can hop on the bus right at gate 7 on the 1st floor of the terminal. The bus will take you up the expressway, making brief stop only around Yommarat (connect to Phetchaburi Road), Khao San Road, before the line ends at Sanam Luang (near the Grand Palace).
Apart from S1, other buses need to be caught at Bus Center just outside of Suvarnabhumi Airport, which you can get there by shuttle bus from Gate 5 on 2nd and 4th floor. Currently, there are 3 routes available --- 554 and 555 buses will take you to Rangsit north of Bangkok with 554 passing the front of Don Mueang Airport, and 558 bus will take you to Rama II Road and Dao Khanong area down south. If you need to connect to Don Mueang Airport 554 is a good option. However, it is not recommend if you travel with large luggage or in a hurry, as this local buses lag of luggage storage and run on normal roads. S1 Bus

Public Van is another quick and cheap way to get from the airport to downtown Bangkok. You can catch the van from Gates 1 and 8 on the 1st floor of the arrival terminal, and they will take you to major areas of the city.
551 Route will take you to Victory Monument -- the major transportation hub of the city where you can catch many buses, vans, or BTS to all area of Bangkok. 552 is the shortest route, departs every 5 mins to BTS On Nut station -- best if you stay in Sukhumvit Area or want to use BTS Skytrain. Meanwhile, if you are staying around the famous Khao San, 126 is the choice for you as it stop at Wat Chanasongkram and Khao San Road - though this is the less frequent route of all. 551 Route - to Victory Monument

Taxi is the easiest choice that will deliver you right next to the entrance of anywhere in the city at anytime. You can catch the taxi from taxi stand on the 1st floor of the arrival terminal. There are english-speaking officers writing down the address or the point you want to go for you to hand to the taxi driver.

From Don Mueang Airport to Bangkok City
North of Bangkok is Don Mueang, another gateway to the city especially if you travel by most of domestic and asian region low-cost flights. This airport is located on the side of Vibhavadi Rangsit Road around 20 kilometres from the city. Despite being closer to the downtown, the transportation is somewhat less convenient comparing to Suvarnabhumi Airport. • Public Bus
There are many choice to connect to the downtown from the airport, but bus is the most convenient and easiest option to choose. The best options for travellers are A1 and A2 bus which can be catch from Arrival Gate 6 of Terminal 1 and Gate 12 of Terminal 2. A1 Bus connect the airport with BTS Mo Chit / MRT Chatuchak Station while A2 Bus will take you to Victory Monument where is the major transportation hub of the city and you can catch many buses, vans, or BTS to all area of Bangkok.
Local bus can be broad from bus stop just off the wall of the airport, but it is not recommend for first timers. A1 Route - to Mo Chit BTS Station

From Don Mueang Airport Ternimal 1, you can use pedestrian bridge to cross the Vibhavadi Rangsit Road to Don Mueang Train Station just opposite to the airport. This station serves southbound trains that runs all the way to Bangkok Hua Lamphong Railway Station in the heart of the city. However, make sure you are not hurry as it usually take around 1 hour to reach Bangkok Station (which is only some 20 kilometres away) and the train frequency is only 1 - 2 trains per hour (and usually arrives late as well).
There is SRT Red Lines which will connect the airport to the new Bang Sue Grand Station, but it is currently under construction and planned to be completed by the year 2020. • Airport Limo Bus
If you plan to go to Silom or Khao San areas, Airport Limo Bus Express is the choice to go for. This is a private transportation, providing service to and from the airport to Khao San, Pratu Nam and Silom area. The price is flat rate at 150THB, and the bus will depart every half an hour from 9.30 - 24.00. The bus is ready to go at gate no. 6-8, Terminal 1 and gate no.14, Terminal 2. You can book a seat in a short period at the airport or book in advance on their website. • Taxi
You can broad Taxi from the front of the Arrival Halls of international and domestic terminals of Don Mueang Airport. The taxi fare is rated by the meter plus a 50 baht airport surcharge, and passengers are required to pay for all tollway fees or any other charge.
You will need to stand on the queue, and english speaking officer will ask where you want to go and write down on paper for you to hand to taxi driver. It normally cost 200 THB and will take around 30 mins - 1 hour, depends on traffic, to reach the downtown area of the city. If you want to make a connection to Suvarnabhumi, it will cost around 300 - 400 THB and around 1.30 - 2 hour to reach.
